The launch of Azamara Pursuit® in 2018 opened the seas to maiden ports, new itineraries, and the opportunity to provide our guests with even more unforgettable, unique, and immersive experiences than ever before. New-to-Azamara destinations include Antofagasta (Chile), Lima (Peru), and the Beagle Channel—and those are just some of our South American maiden destinations. Not only do we now take you to 15 unique ports and a whole host of bucket-list locales, but we also stay longer in each one, so you have more time to experience the world’s many wonders in a truly AzAmazing way.
Our cruise on the Azamara Pursuit around New Zealand and Norfolk Island was fabulous. The staff on Azamara always seem to go above and beyond to make every passengers trip special. Our cruise was an intensive cruise of New Zealand taking in the sites of both North and South Islands. This was a lovely itinerary with quite a few non tender ports. Although, on all tender ports staff were there to help every person who wanted to go ashore to achieve it. We found ourselves doing the cruise in reverse as the captain made the decision to keep us away from bad weather which worked to perfection. Again Azamara’s staff made sure that White Night and the two brunches we had went without a hitch. So much more work for all!! We ate in Discoveries Restaurant in the evening which always had classic favourites along with plenty of options for all and a taste of the world menu which changed every day. The waiters are so organised, friendly and just want you to enjoy your experience with them. Thank you Azamara for another unforgettable trip
Embarkation is good. The way to the dock is through a shopping mall. Azamara posted workers at every intersection to tell passengers where to go. The check-in was fast. Cabins were not ready until 1:00pm so passengers gathered at the Window Cafe for lunch or snack. Cabin was small and needed update but spotless cleaned. The bathroom was very small. Food was abundant, wonderfully prepared. Dinner menu at the buffet changed frequently. Entertainment was great on Azamara white night, and on local immersion shows but the normal nightly shows were subpar. It was understandable as the ship was small. Even though there was only 700+ passengers, some public areas such as the Mosaic Cafe, the card room, etc. often felt too crowded. Definitely bad is the only laundry room for the ship, the place is too small and the number of washing machine is not enough to handle the usage demand.. Personnel are great, helpful and friendly except the concierge person. He was not helpful and had no knowledge about public transportation at the disembarkation port. Internet connection WIFi is so antiquate and slow.
Azamara went above and beyond to make this a memorable and exciting cruise. The onboard lecture series was first rate. The culinary team conducted several special events from BBQs poolside to evening under the stars poolside, to a spectacular destination Bali buffet with an entire tuna, local exotic fruits, roast suckling pig, etc. Just amazing--and very impressive. The food in the main dining room was always top quality as was the food in the buffet that had a rotating ethic feature every night, always well prepared with great variety. The immersion experiences were also really wonderful from Australian aboriginal music to a gorgeous dance and native instrument performance in Bali with local performers. The staff was universally courteous, hard working, helpful, and very good at their jobs and provided above par service. The smaller ship is so nice--no standing in long lines, no packed elevators. The inclusive nature of Azamara avoids all the constant nickel and diming you get on other ships. Just very impressed.

Azamara® accepts guests of any age*, but discourages families from sailing with children under 18 years of age, as the on board ambience and experience caters to adults and there are no activities for children or baby-sitting services available.
Please note: we have a medical centre on board which is staffed by a fully qualified doctor; however our doctors are not paediatricians. Guests must therefore bring on board an adequate supply of specific medications they need for all members of their family.
