MSC Divina

MSC Divina

Inspired by Sophia Loren, MSC Divina brings you all the elegance and glamour of the golden age of cruise lines, enhanced by modern, eco-friendly technology. On board you’ll find every modern comfort, along with a variety of sports and leisure facilities as well as world-class entertainment, including kids’ and teens’ clubs to ensure everyone’s happy. Also, MSC Divina is one of the ships that sail to our exclusive Bahamian destination Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve.

Ship Reviews

The embarkation process was relatively smooth, however, even though we were MSC ready, it seems like the people assigned for the MSC crew at Port of Miami. We’re all in training so it took a little longer than it should. Also, they are not screening bags thoroughly, my fiancé accidentally brought two lighters on board, and I saw someone on a pool deck blatantly smoking a marijuana joint. The premium balcony Fantasica cabin is excellent. It has a perfect view from the 10th floor, we also have an extra large closet space and it is a beautifully decorated room! They even had two pillows for each of us on the large bed one firm and one soft to accommodate preferences, which I thought was a very nice touch. Our room steward, Putu, constantly went above and beyond, he’s extremely friendly and at one point I had a cup of coffee in each hand, and he was kind enough to open the door to our room for me. At one point, we had spilled coffee on the top sheet of the bed and he changed the sheets while I sat on the balcony so that we didn’t have to leave the room, he is wonderful. The loud speakers work well from both the room and the hallways, and there are gorgeous designs all over the ship representing Italy. There are a wide variety of activities, different foods, and different entertainment, and musical options. The cruise director Neil is informative, kind, and enthusiastic! I will say that the safety drill was very disorganized. We showed our cards with our assigned safety station to several different crew members, and it seems like all four of the crew members told us a different location to go to. Nobody did an actual presentation; we simply had our cards scanned and then watched the video in our cabin. We also like that our fantastica cabin includes room service while only paying for a delivery fee. For example, they have hangers to put outside your door where you can check boxes as to what you want for breakfast and as long as you set it out before 2 AM they will deliver the next morning. selected the delivery time of between 8:30 and 9:00am. The food was delivered beautifully at 9:05 it tasted great, I enjoyed the pancakes and croissant, I was not impressed with the bland scrambled eggs, and the yogurt, the cornflakes at the buffet were not good. I did enjoy the salmon at the buffet. The sail away party had nice music, however, it was mainly lots of people watching a small group of people at the front dance, so I left after five minutes because it was clear that nobody else wanted to dance. Villa Rossa is lovely, although it took quite some time for my rose, maybe they are understaffed. The appetizers also took a while, longer than 50 minutes. Someone from the later dinner seating told me that they waited two hours and had no food. The tuna poke appetizer is tasty, as well as the meatball with mozzarella appetizer. The New York strip came out quite rare, and my fiancé was only able to eat part of it. The warm apple crumble is a fabulous dessert. On the final night for Italian night, the service was very quick! Granted; many people decided to do speciality dining, so there were significantly less people in the dining room. Their caprese salad is delicious and fresh with great flavors! I also enjoyed the penne pasta with fresh sauce and Parmesan. The Pantheon theater is spacious. I loved the upper level views. It has a unique design and the performers were talented musically and with dance and acrobatics! It was a nice 35-minute show, so we still had time for other activities. The acrobatics were amazing! I love that songs ranged from Dolly Parton, Britney, to Lady Gaga, and more! It was a great variety with fabulous sets and costumes. Rouge is a great show! The silent disco was my favorite event of the cruise! The DJ had a great energy, there were three genres to choose from, and everyone was dancing with high energy and having a fabulous time. They even brought out free drinks towards the end, luckily, I walked quickly and was able to grab mine because they were all gone within a minute. The arcade is small, but fun, especially the Pac-Man air hockey game. It was colorful and had a plot twist at the end, although I won’t spoil the surprise. I also Enjoy on deck seven in the sports bar that there is a bowling alley, it is seven dollars per play, and the play goes by quickly, but it was fun. The Calumet buffet has fabulous decorations, excellent service, many huge; coffee; tea; and drink options, and fabulous pizza, pasta, salad, cold Cuts, specials, and more! I also enjoyed the nachos with sour cream, guacamole, fresh cheddar, and the barbecue chicken quesadillas. The bacon was a little undercooked, but the salmon and fruit were always delicious. The variety of pasta available is always plentiful, snd we were really disappointed. The salad bar is also fantastic! There’s always fresh bread and cold cuts, and of course, many gourmet pizzas. MSC’s Ocean Cay is always gorgeous, and we decided to get to the beach around 4:00 to watch the 5:30pm sunset. It was amazing, and the beach was much less crowded, we even got chairs and an umbrella for free, as they are first come first served. It was nice and breezy as well; the temperature was so comfortable. I left the dinner table in order to attend a presentation by an employee to try and win a diamond necklace, the woman started late, and she went much longer than the 15 minutes she quoted, so I thought that was ridiculous. It was also advertised as 15 minutes on the itinerary, and she went for more than double the amount of time advertised. If I had known this, I would not have attended the presentation. In fact, the slideshow is 74 slides long. I spoke to the manager, Natalia Pervachuk, who was incredibly kind and understanding. She was very empathetic to my situation, and she assured me that this was unacceptable, and that it will not happen to someone else in the future, because things need to be the runtime that they are advertised for planning purposes, especially on a vacation when we are all trying to enjoy ourselves. It was unfortunate that we missed our sitdown dinner because of this, but I feel happy with the way the manager resolved it. Caffe Italia is a gorgeous espresso bar, they have fabulous decorations and tasty cappuccinos. The white party started out with cool music, but it slowly dissolved into music that was cheesy, nonetheless, we were expecting this; as this was what happened on our last cruise at the white party. Miniature golf was a fun activity, and I’m glad they offered it, we didn’t know it existed til we checked the MSC for me app and saw it listed. The Piazza del Doge is beautifully decorated; they have alcohol and side drinks, coffee, as well as plenty of seating and a small selection of gelato as well as sandwiches and pastries. The selfies with the officers event was very fun and high energy, it was nice that they all wore their dress uniforms for the fun photos. A Circus Story show was fantastic! It is a brand new show. There were acrobatics so amazing that if I wasn’t seeing it with my own eyes; I wouldn’t have believed it was happening. They even had a trampoline onstage! Disembarkation was a long line at 7:05am. It only took 15 minutes to disembark. Parking garage C at Port of Miami only had one working elevator out of four, so my fiancé decided to carry the suitcases and we walked up the four flights of stairs instead of waiting. Parking at Port of Miami was $75 for three days.

Second time on MSC Divina, last sailed her in 2019. We booked Aurea balcony cabin for two adults and the cruise met our expectations of MSC. Ship is showing signs of wear and tear in some public areas, lifts and restrooms. Thermal area sauna and steam rooms not always working, whirlpools not at expected temperature. Cabin was clean and in excellent condition and steward performed twice daily cleaning and turndown service as required. Buffet seemed to have less variety than in past, although there's still the excellent MSC pizza with four or five toppings. Main dining room menu was familiar from previous MSC cruises. Food was fine, but not expectational. MSC tender options went smoothly and groups were well managed. Port times were extended and adjusted due to the multiple other cruise ships in Mykonos and Santorini. Excursions were reasonable value when prebooked. Made good use of drinks package with minimal waits for bar or table service. Icing on cake was decent win in Casino which paid for half the cruise ! Have already booked two further MSC cruises for 2025.
