Ship Reviews

Overall an excellent experience. The service at Windjammer was very good, but the experience is still underwhelming and one we tried to avoid. The main dining room was efficient, food good and staff very attentive. The Pizza cafe, Sorrentos, needs to be a bit more flexible in its toppings, on Virgin cruises you can get a wide variety of pizzas and ask for different toppings and they oblige. Entertainment was of a high standard and the ship dancers and singers were fantastic. Sorting people for their ship excursions was still a work in progress, with some milling around of passengers in the theatre trying to jump the gun. Ports of call were very good but there really needs to be a better option at Saigon to get people to the local areas, even a cheap shuttle to Vung Tau town close to where the ship docked, similar to how a paid shuttle was provided at Jeju island to Seogwipo townsite.

The weather wasn’t the best but we made the best of it. Food was fantastic. The crew was really friendly and accommodating. Shows were spectacular. We went to the Mendenhal Glacier and it was awesome. We saw humpback whales, orcas, otters and seals from our ship. We love cruising. I would go year round if I could afford it. It is very relaxing. It can be very busy if you want it to be. I’m 66 and don’t really do the late night parties and dancing. Love the sunsets and sunrises. This was our second Alaska cruise so we chose to just stroll around the ports we had been to before. We took pictures and shopped in the stores. The scenery is just beautiful and I could sit there and stare at it all day. Eagles and waterfalls. What more can you ask for. One of the most beautiful places I’ve been too. We were hoping to see the northern lights but it was too cloudy. Maybe next time.

Quantum of the seas is a ship with lots of activities for all ages. The Seaplex has bumper cars, pickleball(too busy and not enough free play), climbing wall , flow rider, etc. It has a capacity of 4905 passengers and yet the ship had so many options it did not feel crowded except at Sitka due to the need for shuttles to get off by number. Get in line early to get shuttle tickets if you are not in a suite. Food is mediocre to say the least. One night in the dining room it was really poor. The specialty restaurants are good and people I spoke to that were in the suites said that the Coastal Kitchen food was amazing. If you don't want to spend the extra for a suite I would recommend to buy the unlimited specialty restaurant package and eat there most of the time. The Solarium Bistro was good for breakfast and light lunch and quiet area to eat and places to play card games. I cruised with my Sister and Sister-in-law for this cruise. We were in a balcony room on deck 8, midship. The ship was very smooth and we hardly felt we were on the ship. I normally cruise with my husband and we book suites or specialty restaurants. For this cruise, my sister and SIL were on their first cruise. They were not impressed with the food either except for Chops restaurant. You could always plan to eat at the ports you visit and try the local cuisine there. We had the crab legs at Tracy's Crab Shack in Sitka. Expensive but well worth it.

ELEVATE EVERY EXPECTATION

The first of its class, Quantum of the Seas® changed everything as the most revolutionary ship in the world – and it’s loaded with thrills to tick off your bucket list. Watch a robot mix your cocktails at Bionic Bar®, go with your whole crew for some sight-seeing 90 metres above the ocean in the North Star®, and transform the way you take in a show at Two70®.

THE SKY'S THE LIMIT

It’s time to raise the bar on adventure. North Star® elevates you high above the ship for unrivalled 360-degree views from over 90 metres above sea level. Just step into the observation capsule – winner of the Guinness World Record for tallest viewing deck on a cruise ship.

AHH-INSPIRING IN ANY LIGHT

By day, it's an open area living room with panoramic views through windows two decks high. By night, the lights go down, the windows become screens and the space comes alive with aerialists, robots and much more. This is Two70® – a place that can take you anywhere.

MIXOLOGY MEETS TECHNOLOGY

Rocking moves as fluid as the Pimm’s in your cup, these two robotic bartenders know how to shake, stir and sling an almost endless combination of delicious cocktails, from classic gin martinis and Long Island iced teas, to custom orders designed by you.

ADVENTURE AROUND THE CLOCK

No matter when the urge for adventure strikes, Quantum of the Seas offers incredible experiences that will rewrite everything you think you know about cruise ship activities. From morning surf sessions on the FlowRider®, to centre-stage spectaculars after sunset – there’s no curfew on thrills.

PLAY ALL DAY

Suit up for some high-flying fun on the only skydiving simulator at sea, Ripcord® by iFly®, then catch some waves on the FlowRider® surf simulator. With so much to see and do onboard Quantum of the Seas, you’ll be glad for the extra sea days.

ALL IN FOR THRILLS AFTER DARK

Save some energy for the evening, because the adventures onboard heat up once the sun goes down.
