We had a wonderful 3-night Bahamas cruise onboard Royal Caribbean’s Liberty of the Seas, sailing roundtrip from Fort Lauderdale to Nassau and the award-winning private island, Perfect Day at CocoCay. This was our second time sailing with Royal Caribbean—our first since 2015 on Allure of the Seas—and it reminded us why we love this line: great service, fun vibes, and solid value for a quick getaway. We booked two connecting or nearby balcony cabins to accommodate our group comfortably: • Cabin (Deck 9, Category 4B Spacious Ocean View Balcony, double occupancy) • Cabin (Deck 8, Category 5D Ocean View Balcony, triple occupancy) Both cabins were spacious and well-designed. We especially loved the private balconies for enjoying sea views and sailaways, the modern bathrooms, and the comfortable king-size beds (perfect for relaxing after a full day). The rooms felt fresh and inviting right from the start. Check-in and boarding at Terminal 18 in Fort Lauderdale were seamless—super easy and efficient with no lines or issues to complain about. From the moment we stepped onboard to disembarkation, everything ran smoothly and felt welcoming. Dining was a highlight! We ate in the main dining room almost every night, and the food was exceptional—fresh, flavorful, and varied. Our servers were incredibly helpful, guiding us through menu choices and making sure every meal was enjoyable. They truly elevated the experience. The shows were fantastic too—we loved the theater productions and the overall entertainment onboard. It kept the evenings exciting and memorable. For me, this cruise was extra special because it was my first time ever trying water slides on a ship—I had only done a couple on land before, so I was a bit nervous at first. But after one ride on the green and the orange racer slides (and then conquering Tidal Wave!), I was hooked and went back multiple times. The views of the ocean while zooming down made it even better. Such a highlight of the trip—definitely recommend if you’re up for some wet, wild fun! “The water slides were a massive hit! It was my first time trying them on a cruise ship, and wow—what an adrenaline rush. The Perfect Storm trio (especially the unique Tidal Wave boomerang slide) delivered non-stop thrills with twists, drops, and even that weightless moment on the wall. I was nervous at first, but ended up riding them over and over. Perfect for adding excitement to sea days!” Overall, this short cruise was a perfect escape. The ship delivered on fun, relaxation, and those classic Royal Caribbean touches. We’re already looking forward to our next one—highly recommend Liberty of the Seas for anyone wanting a quick, high-energy Bahamas trip with top-notch service. 5/5 stars from us!
My Background: This was my 16th cruise (2nd on RCL but had not been on since 2020 UAE cruise on smaller Jewel of the Seas). Alot of my most recent cruises have been on NCL so that is my point of reference, though I do admit I usually like smaller ships (2000-3000pp). I booked this as a short getaway from my colder home (I have generally stopped cruising in the Caribbean) and we really lucked out with 3 days of perfect weather. I usually cruise cheaply so stay in inside rooms, and don't do specialty dining. Activities/Entertainment: I thought the entertainment onboard was excellent, this was my first time watching one of the skating shows at sea and the performers were fantastic. I was also able to book a time slot to go skating for 20 minutes which was a novel and fun experience, though by the 5pm slot we had booked the ice was in awful condition from the day. Saturday Night Fever musical was well done and I felt it involved many more set pieces than I was used to from cruising on older NCL ships. I also managed to take a short ride on the Flowrider which I had never experienced before, while the time was short it was definitely a lot of fun. The ship's Tidal Wave slide was more good too. Food: I thought the food on board in both the MDR and buffet was very good. For sure better than the two most recent NCL cruises I took in 2025 (NCL Dawn and NCL Jade). Also shoutout to the dancing kitchen staff on the last day of the cruise in the MDR, it was fun to watch. Ship: I really liked the layout of the ship and it was my first time experiencing the "Royal Promenade" concept which I thought was neatly done. Even though it was a 4000 passenger ship it never really felt too crowded to me, although we didn't have a sea day so YMMV. Embarkation/debarkation: Arrived at 12:40pm to Port Everglades and was able to get onboard in about 10 min. Room was ready by 1pm. Disembarkation was the usual hour or so waiting around after getting out of our cabin but relatively quick and painless in my opinion. Room: Standard inside room was clean, nothing to complain about.
