AmaSiena

Sister ship to the award-winning AmaLea and AmaKristina, the elegant 156-passenger AmaSiena brought with her a sense of joy when she was christened in 2021. Vivid shades of red create an air of confidence throughout the Main Restaurant while bold floral patterns are sprinkled throughout the ship, from her spacious twin-balcony staterooms to her Main Lounge, with its floor-to-ceiling windows offering exceptional views of the castles along the Rhine River and the iconic windmills and pastures of Holland and Belgium. Her airy Sun Deck offers a walking track, pool with swim-up bar and ever-changing views of the scenery – even as you participate in a complimentary fitness class. And her Chef’s Table specialty restaurant offers a subtle elegance that allows each dish of its exquisite regionally inspired tasting menu to shine. Discover all of these delights and more on board AmaSiena.

Ship Reviews

The Amawater ship and crew were stellar. The fact that this was a reaction cruise to an issue on the AmaSofia did not change the service and treatment experienced on the Tulip agenda. My wife and I both find the Amawater treatment positive in all ways that can affect a river cruise experience. From fantastic food and extreme positive interaction with ship crew and support personnel. The ship itself reflects Amawater professional sailing experience. The cruise director was very professional and the excursions were interesting and conducted with very few problems. The scheduling of on-board activities ,such as dinner,Happy hour,Lunch and breakfast were always timely and fit the excursion timeframes perfectly. The cabin was well attended and the amenities made the shipboard life very comfortable. I cannot say enough regarding the dinning experience during the entire cruise. From excellent food choices to very appealing food layout in the dining area, all made to experience a treat.

This was my first AmaWaterways boat..It was extremely a delight..Spacious areas to sit outside of the cabins. I LOVED the area on the sundeck with the couches/pillows! That was my favorite sailing thru the Rhine Gorge viewing the castles. My French Doors Cabin was the best! Opening the glass doors to feel the fresh air and view from side to side without even being outside! That was my favorite since I was alone I was still able to enjoy outside in the evenings/mornings without having to go out on the sundeck…I loved where my room was on the boat…I was just below about 8 steps from the 24/7 coffee machine and could go up these few steps to obtain a cup of coffee in my decent PJ’s first thing in the morning (which I loved)! AND, it was always so HOT and freshly brewed!! I did not want to get off this wonderful Cruise! My Cruise Director, Fredericko, was the BEST!

I quite enjoyed the cruise, which doesn’t mean it was perfect, I do have a few concerns. Firstly I took two elderly aunts on this cruise, one whom is 90 years old and I found the excursions could have been easier on her there seemed to be too much walking to and from the tour buses. Additionally there was another passenger who travelled from Australia and had to forgo two excursions because the gangway was too steep, meanwhile a ship docked in front of use managed to overcome this. Second issue there were two suites empty and the upgrade cost onboard was given as higher than the previously communicated email offer. On a positive note the food was exceptional, as were the staff. The cabin was functional and the crew were excellent. The contractors that handled the transfers to and from the airport were first rate and are deserving of recognition.

The staff was so welcoming and helpful from the moment we stepped foot on the boat. We loved the dining service Antonio and Nellie provided. The rooms were well equipped and the house keeping staff was very attentive to our needs. Our Cruise director was so informative, helpful and entertaining. We loved the smaller number of passengers compared to the big ships. We enjoyed seeing the sights and learning about the local cultures while we visited different cities in Germany, France and Holland. Each city was charming and unique in its own way. The passage through the Rhine river gorge was beautiful and the castles were impressive. Our cruise director Petrus gave us an informative and entertaining narrative about the different castles as we cruised by. We opted for the land deal in Switzerland, and it was amazing! The Swiss Alps are magnificent. AMA thought of everything and from start to finish helped us get to where we needed to go with transfers to and from the airport and destinations while cruising.

This was a great itinerary, ship, crew, and service. Our standard veranda cabin was roomy and well-designed with a nice shower, room for storage, and usb ports and lights by each side of the bed. The crew was professional and helpful. We enjoyed each port and excursion with choices of destination and activity level: gentle, regular, or active. Our cruise manager was tremendously efficient and helpful. The food was delicious with a terrific Chef's Dinner and the crew offered a lovely barbecue and Sunday dessert bar on the sundeck. Sailing the Rhine gorge was a highlight for us to see the many castles, villages, and vineyards, but each excursion was delightful. The biggest problem we encountered was the noise level in the dining room. It was so loud that we had to shout to be heard across the table. We were also disappointed that the ship did not dock at either the advertised departure or final destination ports and we were bussed instead.
