This cruise was a wonderful short weekend get away from the day to day activities that are in our lives. This Trip was superb. First stop was Key West which was a wonderful day of walking thru the cities sites that for the most part are within one mile distance. We visited the Aquarian, the Pirates Museum and the Flagler Museum, all 3 for one low price, under $40 per person. The sites inside were wonderful especially at the Aquarium... superb. We came back to the ship and had lunch on the ship which was on the top level's buffet, which had all kinds of meal varieties that were excellent and I enjoyed one of my available drinks from my drink package at no extra cost. We enjoyed the shows and comedians on the ship with great thrill. The next day was at Bimini, in the Bahamas. We ended up just doing our own activity so after having a wonderful breakfast, we packed our backpack with suntan protection, some bottle waters, our towels, snokel gear which i brought with me, hat and sunglasses, and headed off the ship. The pier is just a couple hundred meters long so you get to enjoy a short 5 to 10 minute walk to get onto the island. The best part is that the moment you make it to shore, you simply make a right turn and you are practically on the BEACH. The beach is free and you simply can walk in and there are no hassles at all. If you wish to rent a couple beach chairs and umbrellas, your cost would be $60. Drinks could be ordered at a small truck stand in this area, with mixed drinks at $20 and a beer for around $12. Once you head for the beach, you will find the sand ultra wonderful, beautiful white sandy smooth beaches. We went under the bridge and laid out our stuff there in the shade avoiding the umbrella rental. We then went into the most pristine, clear, beautiful ocean water I have been able to enjoy in years. Superb clarity and visibility probably at 40 + feet under water. We brought our snokles and i swam out about 100 yards out into water 20 feet deep right next to the pier. Once further out, you encountered some fish, i saw a large mackeral, many small schools of snappers and mackeral, our friend spotted a small shark. I saw several baracudas that were just basically sitting on the bottom. Beautiful day. The water temp may have been around 78 degrees or so, but it was easy to step into once you took that first dip. Trully a fantastic time. We then took a walk into the main part of the harbor, walked by the seaport, and watched a plane arrive. We countinued around and enjoyed some of the music playing in one of the plazas. We then took the free shuttle on the island and made our way back to the ship. The last day on the cruise we enjoyed our dinner, comedy and entertainment shows... all went well. To include a visit to the free sauna on the ship. Departure was superb, no delays at all in Fort Lauderdale. Great get away cruise.
