This was our first ever cruise, although we travel extensively. We didn't think we were "cruise people" and I still think we're not, since we like to spend much longer in a given area than allowed during a cruise. That said, we enjoyed the cruise and would do another one in locations that are all about views from water. I didn't know we were going to be taking a cruise soon enough to book early, so in late December 2025 we booked the only July date that still had a starboard, midship veranda cabin. It happened to be concierge class, which proved largely irrelevant to us. What we liked: The room itself was large enough to feel comfortable, and the bed was also comfortable. The underbed storage was large enough to accommodate our luggage, including my collapsible Travelscoot mobility scooter. We were in room which has a smaller deck, but that turned out to be okay, even though one or the other of us spent most of our time on the deck. I'm immune compromised, so our plan was wear masks when outside our cabin and to get food at the buffet and eat outside at the buffet bar or in our room or veranda. The plan worked out, but I caught a cold despite our best mask-wearing efforts. For health reasons, we didn't participate in any of the entertainment, although the trivia games and karaoke sounded fun. We are foodies from a city known for its cuisine, and I booked Celebrity partly because of its reputation for food. Even though we only ate from the buffet, we found the food good. I would rate the bread bakery best, followed by The Carvery, and the Greek specialties. The desserts were pretty but not crave-worthy. We managed to not gain weight. Given that we went to the buffet three times a day, our room location was convenient: up two sets of stairs and we were at the buffet. The nearby stairs did not prove to be a noise problem in our room. I think most people took the elevators. The room steward was very kind. I wonder if he was new, as he didn't know the answer to some questions that surprised me, like when do we get our laundry back, or how do I get the wifi we paid for? (Maybe that's standard?) The bad: Room has a mold problem in the shower/bathroom area. It appears the floor does not slope to the drain. Upon turning on the water, one instantly stands in 1/2 inch of water, much of which stays in the shower for hours. We complained and were told that several actions were taken over the first three days: shower sprayed with bleach, drain cleared, plumbing in the wall checked, electricity to overhead fan increased. We were in our room a lot, but never saw any of the persons who would have done the reported work. By day three the smell had diminished, but slowly came back. I'm surprised that Celebrity allows anyone to stay since the mold could represent a health risk. I'm not allergic to mold, but extreme exposure to pollen has in the past caused me to become allergic, and I worried that I would gain a mold allergy. Celebrity gave us each a $150 certificate good toward a future cruise to apologize for the mold. The other dislike I had during the cruise was that the day that was listed as "cruising/inside passage" was not the inside passage. Our ship stayed West of Vancouver Island and our view all day was of ocean. Years ago I took the AK marine ferry from Bellingham to Juneau and was looking forward to the trip from Vancouver to Ketchikan going between Vancouver Island and the mainland. I have now read discussions of this issue and wish I had read them prior to booking the cruise. I find the advertising disingenuous. Despite missing the views I booked the cruise to see, we did see beautiful scenery, and with the train trip to Anchorage from Seward and the flight home, I got my need for amazing vistas met.
Loved our aft facing aqua class cabin! Great views and good steward, Alieu. Only downside was small bathroom with hot water and water pressure issues during peak time. Not a huge issue for us. No noise from sunset bar below. Air conditioning worked well and bed was comfortable. Had great meals in Blu, shout out to Meljohn, ocean view cafe, and main dining. Best meals were in Tuscan Grille with the amazing Tingkas and the two Gede’s and Sushi on 5. Strongly disliked the upsell in the spa. Patience was a bright spot in that chaos. I recommend that celebrity HQ emphasize to their spa vendors that we are Celebrity’s customers and the spa personnel remember that and interact accordingly. Persian garden was fantastic, significantly better than most other celebrity ships. Really can’t go wrong. Casino treated us well first few days only. Dealers were all very pleasant, patient, and professional. Always love the spa cafe, especially their smoothies. Best bar service on the ship was Sudiana in Rendezvous lounge. Martini bar is great but always busy and slow service. All pool areas were in great shape and passengers were courteous for the most part. Entertainment was fine. Despite one purchase in EFFY, we don’t recommend wasting your time there. Sales team is pushy and prices are heavily inflated. Max was the one exception. He was great to work with! Security teams were exceptional as embarkation and disembarkation were as smooth as we’ve ever seen in every port. As mature as the Summit is, we rarely saw signs of her age. She is in unbelievable shape and the crew worked tirelessly to keep her that way. She was a real pleasure to sail! As leadership starts at the top, we commend the captain and his entire team for making this a safe and memorable cruise for everyone!
Two words. GO GREEN. Celebrity really needs to revise this program. There is never a confirmation given, but if they don't award the CC points for Go Green well then they require the confirmation, or a screenshot. Either award the points or get rid of the program. I feel like Charlie Brown when Lucy takes away the football. I've contacted Celebrity and no help whatsoever. As for the ship. I had a Concierge Cabin that had an obstructed view. I don't recall reserving an obstructed view but the cabin itself was spacious and well laid out with a comfortable bed. There was a funky smell in the shower. There is a definite need for updating, especially in the bathroom. Staff was excellent for the most part and very helpful, especially in the Dining Room. I gave kudos to the most exceptional staff in my post-cruise review. Thank you for the Peloton bike in the gym!!!!! The newer ships and the Reflection do not have Peloton bikes and I really appreciate having access to one. Excellent entertainment! The Celebrity cast was absolutely fabulous! They were reaching the end of their contract so the new cast will be arriving soon. I did have a problem on an excursion which I continue to pursue. All in all, a good cruise.
