This was my 8th cruise on CC. I really enjoyed it. Embarkation was very quick. The Ship is beautiful. The food was very good in each place that we ate. The Oceanview Cafe was awesome it had a great variety of things to choose from. The crew on this ship outstanding. Our cabin a attended Andi was always very helpful with any thing we needed. Our cabin a Porthole balcony I really liked the layout. On our last evening on board we had a medical emergency and had to detour to Nassau. The Captain stated that we would be late by 3 or 4 hours getting into port. I do not know how he did it but were only about 1 hour late. We were still able to catch our 12:00 flight. The Captian also very friendly and willing to stop and take a picture. I cannot say enough about this Captain, Crew and Ship.
My cruise on the Celebrity Ascent October 31, 2025 was awesome. We had the honor to have brothers Captain Tasos and Captain Dimitrios as co-captains for the 13-night cruise from Civitavecchia, Italy to Ft. Lauderdale. We love the infinitive balcony, which has the balcony enclosed inside the cabin, but you can lower the window to make it an ocean open balcony. The food is along the 8-10 rating, but there is a great selection in the Oceanview all the time. The entertainment was a 10+. Very good headliners too. We love Celebrity and continue to sail with that brand. They offer many destinations on different size of ships at various pricing levels. Our cruise director was very good and his personality and energy was over the top. Cafe Bacio's was a great place to get coffee and just hang out with other guest. Our ports of Sardinia, Italy, Gibraltar and Kings Wharf, Bermuda were great ports to explore.
Ascent ship was wonderful, we sailed on previous ships and this one was the best. They do listen to comments. They added piano with excellent pianists, The crew was wonderful excellent service the seminars were great . The shows were good but sometimes the background of lights and visuals overshadowed the performers. We stayed in the retreat and the amenities were wonderful. The food was excellent and the days at sea were filled with activities. including drawing classes. We had some food intolerance and they were very careful advising on choices. The shores excursion we took were good. The ship was very clean and the room attendant was great. We did like the world class bar. The bartenders were great with innovative drinks. The announcements were very helpful and the captains were very interesting, The cruise director and activity director were very entertaining. The cruise apps on your phone very helpful to plan your day,
My wife and I have taken dozens of cruises, and many have been with Celebrity Cruises over the past three decades. It is our overall favorite cruise line for an adult experience with fewer children, yet not trying to be avant-garde like Virgin Voyages. The Ascent is beautiful. It is refined in many ways over Celebrity's earlier ships. It ticks almost all the boxes on our list of preferences. The crew is stellar. The two captains are very accessible and friendly. It is a very comfortable experience. This Transatlantic was very surprising. We loved the Edge and Apex. The Ascent showed improvements in many areas. Cafe al Bacio on deck 4 has been enlarged with a wider walkway and more seating. The cakes and pastries are made with less love. Their taste continues to slide. Either that or I'm losing taste buds in old age. I remember the sticky buns in Eden being world-class. Not anymore. They tasted more like Weber's bread with a tiny amount of cinnamon sprinkled in. Throughout the dining experience, we sensed a downward spiral of quality in the food offerings. This must be an effort to upsell the specialty restaurants. My only major complaint was that our cabin was plagued with cold water in the shower and handwashing basin. When I first brought this to the attention of my stateroom attendant, he said he would have someone fix it. The next day, he came into the bathroom, sat on the toilet, and flushed it half a dozen times to get a little lukewarm water. The problem persisted. I called guest relations. They promised to fix it and followed up later that day to assure me it had been fixed. It wasn't. On the 13th day of our 13-night cruise, a plumber came into the cabin, and I finally had very hot water on the last morning. Of course, I didn't need to take a shower that morning as I took one the night before bc I couldn't trust that I would have warm water on the morning of departure. The Ascent is barely 2 years old. I cannot imagine I'm the first passenger to lack lukewarm water in the morning. What's up with that?
This was our first transatlantic cruise, and it was wonderful. We are newly Elite Captain's Club members, as was half the ship, we were told. That posed an issue when it came to accessing special events. By the time we went to sign up a few days in, almost everything was full. But that was a minor hitch in an otherwise excellent voyage. The Ascent is a beautiful, well maintained ship. The crew seems very proud of her, as were the captains (yes, plural!) We had both of the Tasos brothers. They were like a vaudeville act; their humor really added to the experience. Our wheelchair accessible stateroom was gorgeous; we liked the infinity balcony, but I wish that the blackout curtains were on the inside door. Entertainment was good; we loved the production shows especially, and the house orchestra was great. The food and service in the main dining room were excellent although some choices were hit or miss (chicken chiquita, fishy salmon one night). We didn't try any of the specialty restaurants. Overall, we would definitely sail the Ascent again, and would love to book another transatlantic.

On our Celebrity Edge® Series ships, we may have reinvented the main restaurant experience with four different venues, but we haven’t changed the way you plan your dining. With Celebrity Select Dining you can choose early seating at 6:00 P.M., late seating at 8:30 P.M., or dine whenever you want. You’ll be assigned one of the four main restaurants, while having the option to dine in the other three upon request and availability.

Kids and Teen Programs
The fun starts at Camp At Sea, our onboard entertainment centre and program designed exclusively for kids ages 3 to 12. Open every day from 9:00am - 10:00pm, Camp at Sea offers kids the opportunity to participate in a number of entertaining activities, including treasure hunts, arts and crafts, sports, and theme parties, all under the supervision of our experienced youth staff. For our teen cruisers, the Teen Club is the place to be. At the Teen Club, they can make new friends and participate in events like video game competitions, teen parties, and culinary classes. Activities are overseen by our team of teen counsellors and offered throughout the day, allowing teens to come and go as they please.
