Ship Reviews

Fabulous expedition trip to Antarctica. Entertainment was based on science and remote landings. Had music in lounge in afternoon and evening. Very busy schedule. Science and expedition team were excellent with daily (sometimes 2X) landings/zodiac cruise and multiple lectures daily. Also had professional guest lecturers on board. Accommodations were very spacious and functional. Steward very helpful and kept room cleaned and mini bar filled. Great views from balcony to watch wildlife. Food was very good with 3 restaurant choices (one was extra cost/suite). Breakfast buffet and lunch options were expansive to many tastes and special diet needs. Dinners were mostly 3 course with 3 daily specials or any of standard dinner selections. Drinks are included, beer wine and standard spirits. Some premium drinks are extra or included for suites. Wait staff were fabulous. Can't say enough about the quality of service and ship overall. Equally impressive was the amount of repeat customers on board HX expedition trips. One person was on their 8th trip with HX. HX transfers were efficient and in quality hotels. Stayed at Emperador in Buenos Aries. Walk to several good restaurants and train museum. Only issue was getting timely info from our travel agent on itenary details as everything from HX sent to her. Corporate side was doing some system changes which impacted getting the info on line. Over all Would highly recommend HX Expedition.

Affordable Antartica! It didnt havent lot of activities as more geared towards the adventourous reserved customers. This was my bucket list and worth the trek to see this wonderful amazing place. HX was always working towards making it work. Our polar plunge went to plan C and was unplanned and chaotic but still worked. I know so much of cruise is geared around the weather. I wish ship had more entertainment options or at least get togethers with trivia etc. The food was good and plentiful. The cabin comfortable and quiet. The company had communication issues I thought on embark and disembark as to info on the air to and from USH. It was a team effort on this ship as I think the captain was seen swapping the deck. I wish we had more oppurtunity to get off ship [got off 2 of the 5 days in the area] but still got the best to see the best.
