Although I have cruised for over 20 years, I had never cruised with MSC. I booked a week as it was a good time for us to go, excellent price and the itinerary suited us. I read the reviews and thought ‘Oh well, it’s only a week’. What a pleasant surprise! Great cabin, excellent staff and facilities and I really, really don’t know why people are so disparaging. Someone said it smelt of sewage… I assume they were pumping out and it lasts a very short time and every ship does this. Others got grumpy about the shows- only short- well frankly I would rather have good than long and less good! Embarkation was smooth and efficient and our bags arrived promptly. Staff were welcoming, smiling and helpful. The food was plentiful and there were many choices. I also liked the dining room breakfast option- excellent quality. Well done MSC - we will be back.
Well, this was our first cruise but it certainly will not be our last, it exceeded all our expectations!! Where do I start? So, after handing over the largest case we made our way through passport control and onto the ship, took all of 15 minutes and were met by the most friendliest staff, we were greeted as sir and ma’am and immediately offered drinks, we dropped our cases off at our cabin and were invited to go to the buffet to eat which we did. The food is different every day and the cleanliness is excellent, we cruised 9th-16th Jan 2026 and never bothered getting off the ship once because there’s so much to enjoy on board. We had a lovely man that we saw every day who came to service and clean our cabin, lovely guy, couldn’t do enough for you, his name is Anoop but so I didn’t forget I nicknamed him snoop dog. The whole cruise was superb from beginning to end and truly memorable, thank you MSC
After this cruise we are now Diamond members so we are big MSC fans! The most outstanding part of this cruise was the staff. They were very polite and respectful. The food was great in the main dining room and we had brunch in the buffet once which was very average! We have been on this cruise before with both Prezziosa and Virtuosa and we think that Poesia is the most beautiful ship by comparison! We did three MSC excursion trips and although a bit expensive were ok! When in Rotterdam we caught the train to Amsterdam for the day which was much cheaper than the excursion price. The entertainment was ok but could be better. The classical pianist and Cello player were outstanding! We loved the ship, the staff, the food and everything was overall just great! We have rebooked to go on Preziozza in November and expect another fantastic MSC cruise.
