Building on her sisters ships’ success, MSC Grandiosa offers even more public space, along with a series of exciting innovations. Meantime, Aurea Experience guests can appreciate the pleasures of flexible dining and unlimited drinks in a dedicated restaurant.
To be fair, we personally have had a preference for msc yacht club, and therefore our view point probably reflects this historical preference. i am not saying that it is not truly accurate, but is surely helped by many previous cruises on msc. This spring, for our anniversary, we booked a cruise on the msc grandiosa in the yacht club. previously, we have done similar trips on the seaside class, the divina class and now this ship is the maragivilia plus class. oldest to newest would be divina (oldest), grandiosa, and then seaside (newest). Embarkation - arrival and embarkation continues to be fast and stress free as the butler or attendant moves you around the longer check in lines and takes you to the yacht club (yc) lounge. you don't stay there long and then you are taken to the muster check in and then the "ship within a ship" yacht club top sail lounge. on all of the ships, the top sail lounge is quite nice with a welcoming snack buffet and a cold or hot beverage of your choice. they continue to have this down to a science with very little waiting time until your butler comes to escort you to your cabin. Cabin - as i indicated, we have been on three classes of msc in the yacht club. the cabins are consistent and clean. there is plenty of storage and on the grandiosa we were in a forward facing cabin with a huge deck. pretty standard decor on the deck with two chairs and a combination foot rest / table. this particular deck had large glass wind-breaking glass because of the orientation of the room. there is some wear on the room but it is and was kept neat and clean throughout the week. one of the yc benefits is that you do have a coffee maker in the room and the small fridge is kept filled with soda, juice and some beer. after the first day, your butler knows what you want and it always contains your favorites. The lounge (top sail lounge) - this is really a nice quiet place to g and sit and relax. there is a nice "small snack" buffet available and with the yc you do get the included beverage package. top shelf beverages are available throughout the cruise. if i was to say anything on this, it would be that if you are ordering something a little off of "high volume norm", you may need to spend a minute with the bartender so that he can thereafter make it to your preference. most late afternoons and evening there is a "quiet" entertainer there with either a guitar or using the piano. Pool and pool deck buffet - included in your yc package is the pool deck, which has been consistent on all cruises. of all of the classes of msc ships, i think that this is my favorite set up. this one tends to have more shade that either the seaside or divina class ships. additionally, i guess that the loungers fit me better and i did enjoy more tables to game, eat or drink. once again, this is a great buffet although somewhat limited. additionally they do made to order breakfasts, burgers and dogs and have a carving station plus quite a bit of seafood and variety of proteins. this was the best of all of the msc ships that i have been on. Top sail restaurant - it is interesting that "over time" you can see things change. i guess that, although the food continues to be very very good, i see some of the options disappearing. one example is on all other msc yc trips, shrimp cocktail and garlic snails were optionally available each and every night. this ship seemed to have more either or with lesser variety. additionally, although good, i did not feel that there was the consistent "wow great" factor that i have always had. some of that may be changing to reflect the economy, however, since i am paying more and more, there should not have been a difference. the food is still very good. The ship - the grandiosa is a gorgeous ship. the main promenade has a changing led type ceiling and there is certainly a hustle and bustle and things going on all the time. the energy does get carried throughout the ship on these decks. Shows - i am not a big show person. we went to a abba tribute (quite good) and a magician/comedy (quite good) and one additional show. the shows are fine but maybe not of the grand scale that you might get elsewhere. Yacht club staff - if you want to do something fun and special different, your surely can't go wrong with the msc yacht club, if you want great service. people are well trained, attentive and focused on make your trip special. and yes, i have tried another (retreat) and personally feel that this one really meets more of my/our expectations. GOOD SAILING and hope this helps
We travelled on March 14th 2026 from Port Canaveral FL. EMBARKATION: Although it was very busy, from the start of the line to security, check in, and on the ship was 25 min. No complaints here. ROOM: We had a balcony room on the 12th floor. The room was laid out nicely. Our Air Conditioning was broken the first day, but was fixed on day two and worked the entire time. Our room Stewart was amazing. Anything we needed he would do his best to accommodate for us, and our room was always clean. We had the drink package and would get a pop/water at night and keep it in the fridge. FOOD: Main Dining Room: This was our third cruise with MSC. All Meals in the dining rooms were amazing, fresh, and full of flavour. Buffet: We only ate there for snacks but it was just a zoo to be honest. Nothing to do with the staff or the lay out, but by kids running around and cutting in lines, made its long time to get food. Specialty Dining We ate one meal at Hola Tacos and it was fantastic! The chilli con corn tacos were awesome! BARS: Champagne bar: This was our favourite bar. They had a great selection of beer, wine, liquor with plenty of places to sit. The staff is amazing here. Masters of the Sea: We went twice to this pub. While inside it’s beautiful, they needed more staff to serve. As the ones there were trying to keep up. Safari Bar: Great place for juice and coffee in the morning. Jean-Philippe Chocolat & Cafe / Crepes & Gelato: Great gelato. But I found the brewed coffee in the dining room better than the purchased americano. (Please note that drink packages do not work here) We were told this before our order. Infinity Bar: Great place to have a cocktail and listen to some music. Sky Lounge: This was one of our favourite places at night and in days it rained. Lots of space, and great staff with a great bar. Aurea Top Sail 19: We spent all our sea days here. It was great. There is not a bar, but they do have a make shift bar every day and can make pretty much any drink. The staff there are amazing!! My only complaint is that while there are signs that say “Adults only”, there were a lot of kids running through there and some people who were not Aurea guests would go there. Cigar Lounge: This had one of the best cigar lounges I’ve seen in a ship. It seated around 15 people, and the ventilation was very good. Cleanliness of the ship: The ship is beautiful. Staff are constantly cleaning, vacuuming, polishing, sanitizing areas. Complaints: My main complaint is how some people act on cruises. We witnessed how people would treat the staff by barking orders, snapping their fingers to the waiters in the buffet/restaurants, Kids who are running in groups all around the ship, swearing, tackling each other, taking food at the buffet and throwing it at each other, running up and down all the cabin halls screaming and knocking at the doors and running away etc, Neighbours who think it’s ok to have parties in there cabins at 3am with tons of people blasting music, slamming furniture, screaming on the balconies etc. All in all, we will travel with MSC again.
We just sailed on here and overall had an amazing experience. The ship is beautiful, the vibe was fun and lively, it ended up being a really memorable vacation for our group. One of the highlights of our cruise was the Il Campo dining room. The service there was absolutely outstanding and truly made our trip special. I especially want to recognize some of the incredible staff members who went above and beyond: Rohan – Busser & Drinks (He was so sweet and great!) Pandai or Ariana – Allergy Specialist (Super funny, kind, helpful and attentive) Novva – Server (Very kind, so helpful & attentive) Denzel – Bartender (Our absolute favorite employee on here! He really made our experience and deserves a HUGE RAISE! He is amazing) Gusti – Bartender (he is hilarious and was great!) They all were Friendly, funny, attentive, and always made sure we had everything we needed! Super great
