Of course the crew are AMAZING, lots of things to do, for every interest. I went out of my comfort zone and attended Price is Right. Had a lot of fun. Board games, shows, quite a list. My negatives were always too many people everywhere (I am NOT a people person, don't like crowds; I prefer the smaller ships), the walking track is 2 lanes. One lane is consumed with the casitas for rent and then everyone is walking in the walking lane., which makes walking at a good pace difficult. I had a balcony which was larger than I expected. Close to the elevators, which I liked. Tried the dining room for breakfast and dinner; order off the menu; Service was great. Tried the Windjammer for breakfast, lunch and dinner, Excellent Service! Food was great. I did notice the 2 times I had steak, it was a little well done for me (I ordered medium) but was delicious. Quantities were perfect, not too much, so there wasn't too much waste, especially since you order extras.
Enjoyed the Entertainment, Theatre shows, Fantastic Orchestra, Comedian, interactive Game shows, 70's and 80's evening music parties were amazing. Quest gameshow was hilarious as always! Breakfast in the dining room was very good with many options and excellent service. Only negative comment are the muffins, whether blueberry, banana, no taste as if they were sugarless. We noticed a difference since our last Royal cruise on Anthem of the Seas in the Lunchtime Buffet. Very few options , each day chicken thighs except the last day chicken breasts, much less variety in all areas such as pastas, etc. My husband brought watermelon to the table and had to discard due to being rotten! Dinner in the main dining room was hit or miss, some evenings steak was undercooked when ordered medium, had to return, pork was overcooked, dry and tough. All vegetables, broccoli, carrots barely cooked, too hard was unable to eat. Most desserts looked appetizing but were tasteless. The pool areas of the ships were well designed, especially the indoor adult pool with whirlpool. The open ceiling was great.
The crew was phenomenal. The service from the room steward through dining service was excellent. The ship was clean and well-maintained. With very few exceptions, the passengers were polite and just there to enjoy the cruise. On sea days, the promenade could get extremely crowded. But you expect that. What I found disappointing, however, is how much of the main dining room food is prepared and frozen on shore and merely reheated on board. This detracts from the whole dining experience. The bread was always fresh. Just ask your wait staff what is fresh and good, and they will tell you. The buffet is a buffet. It really doesn't change much ship to ship. The shrimp-and-chips station was average at best. The specialty restaurants did NOT disappoint. The rooms were clean, but the sheets weren't changed daily. I know this has to do with ocean preservation. I am a long-time RCL cruiser, and I plan to remain that way. I just wish they would stop looking to save pennies at the diner's expense. It detracts from the beauty and service of the main dining room. As a matter of fact, we found that many shelf-prepared foods were so salty they were inedible. We did notify our waiter, even though we knew well that he had nothing to do with it. If you ever get Sherish as a main waiter, you are in for great service. His assistant Dependu was always there with a smile and a helping hand. All in all, it was a very enjoyable and relaxing cruise. Oh, one more thing, half of the maint theater performances were average at best. I guess the bigger and newer ships get the better shows.,
