My husband and I (56, 64) sailed on Serenade of the Seas in mid-September 2026, starting in Vancouver and stopping in Alaska at Sitka, Juneau, Ketchikan and also at Prince Rupert, BC and through the Inside Passage. We had a balcony cabin on the starboard side of the 9th deck forward. Yes Serenade is an older ship but she is beautiful and well-maintained with an old-maritime feel: lots of polished dark wood and brass and windows everywhere, keeping you connected to the scenery outside. Serenade's crew is the very best, everyone we encountered smiled and made us feel special and did whatever they could to please us. I don't know how they keep up that pace with genuine warmth but they do. Some highlights: Windjammer breakfast (across the board excellent), morning Starbucks coffee at Cafe Latte-tudes, the beautiful Schooner bar, the entertainment day & night in the gorgeous Centrum (shout-out to the Cruise Director Adam), Chops Restaurant, The Price Is Right game show two times that week, the Serenade of the Seas Orchestra and singers who put on amazing shows, our balcony. The ship never felt crowded and we always found a table at the Windjammer (especially liked the outdoor seating with an aft view) and a place to hang out day or night. Embarkation/disembarkation in Vancouver was a breeze. We wouldn't hesitate to sail on Serenade again!
Excellent cruise! The service was top notch especially at the bar on 6th with JAMES!!! We also did Giovannis. Shout out to staff there! Lots of activities going on and our highlight was the presentations by Royal Canadian Mounted Police Officer - CHERYL. It honestly was the highlight of the trip. It was so interesting to learn about the "Canadian Mounties". We chatted with her afterwards and got some great pics. She is a huge asset to RCC!! Our room was small but served the purpose. Cleaned daily and very quiet. All the ports were great and we lucked out on amazing weather. The gym was amazing...well equipped. We worked out daily and they offered classes as well but we did our own workouts. Lots of equipment and space. Also a great walking track on the top of the shift with great views! Alaska is GORGEOUS. We will definitely do the trip again!
