This was our fifth cruise in total after cruising three times on the Regent Grandeur and once on the Seabourne Sojourn. Ensure this was the most amazing cruise experience we’ve ever had. The staff were remarkable. I’d like to compare Silversea to Regent when you go on Regent it’s like going into Claridges for the first time you think oh my God wow the elevators the marble floors the height the ambience is just wow wow wow but also you get that feeling should I be in that restaurant? Should I be there because it’s very overwhelming whereas when you walk on the silver dawn, you might walk into a corridor next to lifts but everything flows. It’s like walking into a five star boutique hotel and everybody quickly gets to know you welcome you the staff are always participating in things. There’s so much choice. There’s no restrictions. There’s 20 pizzas to compare to 2 on Regent. You can add things as you can take things away. If something is not in the menu. It’s a lot easier to ask for what you want. They’re so accommodating. It’s just fantastic. They’ve got things that Regent don’t do their arts café with an outdoor balcony all usable heaters whereas on the region it’s almost part of the corridor they’ve got a lot of unusable spaces yes entertainment a lot smaller but you’re closer to the action. It feels like you’re immersed in it you’re part of it. The singers were much better on the Silver Sea, very weak on the Regent. And ask for the food just stunning a magnificent the hot rocks around the pool. I mean that’s just so unique. Cook your own steak. It’s just fantastic the area on level five where you have the quizzes the bingo the round bar all in the main area that’s usable with the piano it’s just fantastic and well thought through the salt adventure under eight restaurants no restrictions. It’s just fantastic and we’ve got another 11 cruises booked over the next 2 1/2 years nine of them are with Silver C and two with Regent including one of their new prestige, but we’re not trying out the silver Ray next. Just wonderful absolutely wonderful. I’m not having any of these criticisms. I thought it was absolutely stunning. Well done Silver sea the only thing I didn’t like was the smoking allowed near the pool. I thought that was very poor because you could actually smell it in the Jacuzzi. I didn’t like that. I thought that was pretty poor really and I need to change that have it back on level nine only.
Captain and Hotel Mgr came over from Azamara Journey - both great. Ship was very clean staff amazing, food great. Weather was crazy good, absolutely no rain and it was hot in Norway - this caused problems with what we brought as Norway known for rain and being cool. As with all Silversea ships the Shore Excursions that are free are very "basic" plan on choosing excursions that cost $$. When you board ship plan on signing up for 1 cooking class. Make restaurant reservations on the first day it becomes available on-line and book your shore excursions as soon as you can on-line. Norway Hotels do not have AC... Denmark /Copenhagen was packed, Europeans are flocking to favorite EU locations and not visiting US..... Your Butler (and room attendant) will still act like they want a tip (as will tour guides on excursions) but thats all Most of Europe is cashless so don't bother getting cash for specific countries, make sure you use credit card that does not charge conversion fee's and configure cell phone for europe (on-land use) do NOT use cell service including DATA on the cruise ship, just use WIFI...
Just got off the Silversea Silver Dawn and it was pure luxury from start to finish! What truly elevates the experience on Silversea is the exceptional crew. We especially loved the SALT experience, which allowed us to really immerse ourselves in the local cuisines. Don't miss the hand-crafted margaritas from Aldo at the SALT Bar—they're truly the best. Cruise Director Moss kept the atmosphere vibrant and entertaining throughout our voyage.
